The corporate official website is a key channel where users can learn about products and share feedback. However, many users do not usually double-check the website URL, which gives scammers the chance to cheat victims.
ViaWallet has ONLY one official website https://viawallet.com/ (now has upgraded to CoinEx Wallet:https://wallet.coinex.com/). But recently, our team has received reports of a fake ViaWallet website in Chinese (https://via-wallet.com/). According to the information collected, we discovered the scam patterns as follows:
1. The fake website is nearly identical to our official site, but with an extra "Case Appeal" menu entry at the bottom navigation.
2. After filling out all information on the "Case Appeal" page, the users will be directed to make a transfer for address verification. And, of course, to get users into the trap, this fake website will claim that the transaction failed, even though it was indeed successful.
3. After clicking "Allow Verification", the users will be asked to wait for 1 minute so that the transaction for approving wallet access can be sent successfully. Then, the scammers will transfer assets from addresses approved by the users to their own addresses.
Reminder: The ONLY ViaWallet official website is https://viawallet.com/ (now has upgraded to CoinEx Wallet:https://wallet.coinex.com/). Please DO NOT click any link posted by non-official support, and DO NOT trust any information from whoever DMs you first.
